Looking back on my ADL journey, I’m struck by how much this program has pushed me beyond my comfort zone and expanded my horizons. It's been a transformative experience that has reshaped my approach to digital learning and leadership. Through each course, I've gained valuable insights and skills, from crafting engaging learning environments to leveraging digital tools effectively. The challenges I faced and the milestones I achieved have strengthened my capabilities and prepared me to drive growth in both myself and those I work with. As I conclude this program, I am grateful for the support and guidance I've received and excited to apply my newfound knowledge to continue innovating in the field of education.

 Concepts of Educational Tech

​

This course has completely transformed how I view fixed and growth mindsets, helping me embrace a growth mindset in my development journey. Along the way, I've expanded my professional learning networks both online and within my campus community. This expansion has helped me refine my personal learning philosophy, which I outlined in my learning manifesto. Discovering the COVA principles transformed my approach to learning by putting me in the driver’s seat of my educational journey.

Disruptive Innovation in Tech

My innovation journey began in 5305, where I tackled key milestones like the Literature Review, Implementation Outline, Innovation Proposal, and Innovation Plan. This course really helped me develop my innovative thinking and set a solid foundation for my ongoing work in the ADL program.

Resources Digital Environments

​

Connecting and sharing knowledge beyond my organization is crucial for learning and growth. This course highlighted how important it is to contribute to the professional community. We worked on assignments like creating a Implementation Outline, crafting a Publication Rough Draft, developing a Publication Media Pitch, and finalizing a Publication Final Draft. These tasks helped me get better at spreading knowledge effectively and staying engaged in ongoing professional development.

Applying Educ Tech: Portfolio

During this course, we focused extensively on refining our ePortfolios and creating blogs. This provided me with the opportunity to build on my previous coursework and further develop my ePortfolio. I curated my brand as a digital learner and educator, enriching my portfolio with diverse content to showcase my journey and potential for growth.

Create Significant Learning Environment

Designing effective learning environments involves more than just classroom setup. In this course, I developed key components like CSLE-New Culture of Learning, Learning Philosophy, developing a Growth Mindset, Aligning Outcomes, and my UbD Design Template. By embedding these elements in a solid learning philosophy, I created a setting where students are actively engaged in their learning journey with clear goals and backward design. The integration of technology enriches this environment, making the learning experience more authentic and interactive. This method encourages students to take an active role in their education, which enhances their understanding and retention of knowledge.

Devel Effective Prof Learning

 I took my innovation plan to the next level in this course by designing impactful professional learning sessions. My goal was to make these sessions engaging and relevant, tailored to the needs of adult learners, and I crafted a call to action plan to make it happen. This course helped me grow and gave me the chance to support others in their learning journey. By collaborating and sharing experiences, I was able to contribute to a community of learners, exchanging insights and strategies to help us all grow. Now, I feel more equipped to create an environment where everyone can thrive.

Leading Organization Change

Throughout this course, we sharpened our abilities as self-differentiated leaders and tackled strategies for managing resistance during the rollout of our innovation plans. Our work included crafting crucial projects such as the Why, 4DX Plan, Influencer Strategy, Self-Differentiated Leadership, and Organizational Change Strategy. Immersing myself in the change process, I realized how vital it is to grasp the what, why, and how behind our objectives. By leveraging my leadership skills, I gained the ability to communicate clearly, influence effectively, tackle resistance, and drive innovation. These experiences equipped me with the skills necessary to lead impactful transformation in any organization.

Assess Digital Learning/Instruction

This course laid the groundwork for improving my ability to integrate research-driven practices into my professional work, giving me the tools to assess, adapt, and innovate in digital learning and instruction. In 5315, I explored research methods, gaining skills in action research, measurement, and assessment to refine and expand our innovation plans. Through assignments like the Action Research Design Outline, Literature Review on ePortfolios, and Measurement Strategy, I enhanced my ability to conduct thorough research and gather relevant data to guide our projects. Additionally, the Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction assignment offered valuable insights into evaluating the effectiveness of digital learning methods.

Synthesis Digital Learn Leader

 

As the program wraps up, I’m taking a step back to reflect on how I've worked to improve educational experiences. By examining my projects, linking them with relevant literature, and reviewing my journey, I’ve grown into a digital innovator rather than just a digital learner. In this final ADL course, I’ve become more introspective and self-assessing. I’ve put together a COVA Reflection, Innovation Project Update, and  an ADL synthesis to showcase my progress. This reflection has given me a clear view of my growth and set the stage for my future work in digital learning and innovation.
